Ben Kidson is a British alternative pop singer-songwriter who grew up on My Chemical Romance, Nirvana and The 1975 and took inspiration from the great rock stories of Led Zeppelin and David Bowie. Largely self-taught, he honed his craft in a string of indie and rock bands before being invited into pop songwriting camps; disillusioned by how restrictive he found them, he taught himself production in his bedroom and, drawn increasingly to hip hop, found himself writing pop for himself almost without noticing. He was raised by a father fifty years his senior and a mother who spent a decade performing musical theatre in the West End, and describes his writing as combining his father's perceptive intelligence with his mother's theatrical flair. His music has been used on the BBC's Killing Eve and ITV's Sticks & Stones, and his songs include Joking, Get Mad, Like a Lightning Bolt and This Don't Feel Like Love (Anymore).
