Music Kite is built for live entertainment discovery, local music communities, artists, DJs, bands, venues, festivals and fans.

These guidelines explain the behaviour and content standards expected on Music Kite. Be accurate, respectful, lawful and responsible. Do not use Music Kite to mislead people, impersonate others, infringe copyright, harass users, publish unsafe claims or arrange risky activity outside the purpose of the platform.

1. Who these guidelines apply to

These Community Guidelines apply to everyone who uses Music Kite, including:

  • fans
  • artists
  • DJs
  • bands
  • venues
  • festivals
  • admins
  • profile managers
  • event organisers
  • people sending booking inquiries
  • people using Live Hubs or embedded Music Kite content

They apply to content and activity across Music Kite, including profiles, events, gigs, Live Hubs, messages, booking inquiries, opportunity discovery, uploads, links and future mobile app features.

2. The spirit of Music Kite

Music Kite exists to help live entertainment communities become easier to discover, follow, update and share.

The platform should feel:

  • useful
  • trustworthy
  • creative
  • welcoming
  • accurate
  • safe
  • respectful
  • locally relevant
  • supportive of artists, venues, festivals and fans

Music Kite is not a place for abuse, scams, harassment, misleading listings, fake events, unsafe arrangements or copyright misuse.

3. Be accurate

Users are responsible for the accuracy of the content they publish.

This includes:

  • artist information
  • DJ and band information
  • venue information
  • festival information
  • event dates
  • event times
  • locations
  • lineups
  • ticket links
  • age restrictions
  • cancellation information
  • recurring event details
  • booking details
  • public contact information

Do not publish false, outdated or misleading information.

If event details change, update the listing as soon as reasonably possible.

Fans should still check directly with the venue, festival, artist or ticket provider before travelling or making plans.

4. Respect profile ownership and authority

Only create, claim or manage a profile if you have permission or authority to do so.

Do not impersonate:

  • an artist
  • a DJ
  • a band
  • a venue
  • a festival
  • an organiser
  • a manager
  • a promoter
  • another user
  • Music Kite staff or admin

Music Kite may ask for verification before allowing someone to manage, claim, transfer, publish or edit a profile.

5. Respect copyright and creative work

Only upload, publish or link to content you have the right to use.

This includes:

  • images
  • logos
  • artwork
  • music
  • videos
  • PDFs
  • event posters
  • profile text
  • photography
  • brand assets
  • social media content
  • embedded media

Do not upload or publish someone else's creative work unless you own it, created it, licensed it or have permission to use it.

If Music Kite receives a copyright complaint, we may remove or restrict the content while reviewing it.

Repeat infringers may have their account, profile or access suspended or removed.

6. Be respectful

Do not use Music Kite to harass, threaten, bully, shame, intimidate or abuse others.

Do not publish or send content that targets people based on protected or personal characteristics.

Do not use messages, inquiries, profile edits, event listings or opportunity features to pressure, spam or harass other users.

Music Kite is a professional and community-focused platform. Friendly, lively and creative expression is welcome. Abuse is not.

7. No hate, threats or harmful content

Music Kite may remove content or restrict accounts involving:

  • hate speech
  • threats
  • harassment
  • intimidation
  • glorification of violence
  • encouragement of self-harm
  • targeted abuse
  • discriminatory content
  • sexually exploitative content
  • illegal activity
  • unsafe event claims
  • malicious or harmful links

Music Kite may also act where content creates safety, legal, reputational or community risk.

8. No scams, spam or manipulation

Do not use Music Kite for scams, spam or deceptive behaviour.

This includes:

  • fake events
  • fake profiles
  • fake ticket links
  • misleading booking claims
  • phishing links
  • malware links
  • fake availability
  • fake endorsements
  • repeated unwanted messages
  • automated spam
  • manipulation of discovery features
  • attempts to deceive fans, artists, venues or festivals

Music Kite may remove suspicious content, disable links, restrict messages or suspend accounts where needed.

9. Booking inquiries and professional conduct

Booking inquiries should be genuine, respectful and relevant.

Do not use booking forms or messages to:

  • spam artists, venues or festivals
  • send abusive messages
  • send misleading offers
  • impersonate another person or organisation
  • pressure users into unsafe arrangements
  • request illegal activity
  • bypass Music Kite safety or moderation controls

Music Kite is not a talent agency, employer, booking guarantor, payment escrow service or party to agreements made outside the platform.

Users are responsible for checking details, agreeing terms, handling payment, managing contracts and arranging insurance where needed.

10. Opportunity discovery

Music Kite may support opportunity discovery features, such as venues or festivals sharing open slots or performance opportunities with relevant artists.

Opportunity features should be used responsibly.

Do not publish or send opportunities that are:

  • fake
  • misleading
  • unsafe
  • exploitative
  • discriminatory
  • spammy
  • unrelated to the platform
  • designed to bypass laws, licences or venue rules

Venue and festival opportunities may be private between relevant venues, festivals and artists. They are not intended to be public fan-facing content unless Music Kite clearly states otherwise.

11. Fans and community behaviour

Fans are welcome on Music Kite and may be able to save, follow, discover and receive updates about artists, venues, festivals and events.

Fans should:

  • use the platform respectfully
  • check event details before travelling
  • respect artists, venues, festivals and other users
  • avoid spamming or abusing inquiry and messaging features
  • avoid publishing or sharing misleading event information
  • respect copyright and creative work

Music Kite may remove fan accounts or restrict access if the platform is misused.

12. No unsafe transport or rideshare arrangements

Music Kite is not a rideshare service, taxi service, transport provider or travel safety platform.

Future community or logistics features may be introduced carefully, but users must not use Music Kite to arrange unsafe transport, pressure others into lifts, misrepresent travel arrangements or create safety risks.

Music Kite is not responsible for private transport arrangements made outside the platform.

13. Live Hubs and embedded content

Live Hubs must be used responsibly.

Do not:

  • hide required Music Kite branding unless permitted
  • modify embed code in a harmful or misleading way
  • use Live Hubs on unlawful or abusive websites
  • frame Music Kite content in a misleading context
  • use embeds to imply false endorsement
  • scrape, overload or attack Music Kite systems
  • reverse-engineer Live Hub code

Music Kite may suspend, disable or remove Live Hubs that are abused, misleading, unsafe, infringing, unlawful or technically harmful.

14. External links

Users may add links to external services, such as:

  • Spotify
  • SoundCloud
  • YouTube
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • TikTok
  • ticketing sites
  • venue websites
  • festival websites
  • Google Maps
  • other relevant websites

Do not add links that are harmful, deceptive, illegal, malicious or irrelevant.

Music Kite is not responsible for external websites, pricing, availability, content, privacy practices, safety or accuracy.

15. Public and private information

Be careful with what you publish.

Public information may appear on Music Kite, in search engines, in social previews, in Live Hubs, in embedded feeds and on third-party websites.

Do not publish private contact details, personal information or sensitive information unless you have permission and understand the visibility.

Music Kite may remove or restrict information that appears to create privacy, safety or legal concerns.

16. Moderation approach

Music Kite uses a friendly but firm moderation approach.

Some content may be reviewed before publication. Other content may be reviewed after reports, admin checks, automated signals or platform activity.

Music Kite may remove, hide, edit, restrict, suspend or disable content, accounts, profiles, messages, inquiries, Live Hubs or other features where we believe they are:

  • unlawful
  • misleading
  • inaccurate
  • harmful
  • unsafe
  • abusive
  • infringing
  • spammy
  • technically harmful
  • inappropriate for Music Kite
  • in breach of these guidelines
  • in breach of Music Kite terms

Music Kite may also make minor formatting, metadata, presentation, SEO, accessibility or safety adjustments to content.

17. Reporting content

Users can report concerns by emailing: hello@musickite.com

Use a subject line such as:

  • Content report
  • Copyright notice
  • Safety concern
  • Fake profile report
  • Fake event report
  • Abuse report

Please include:

  • the Music Kite URL or location of the content
  • what the issue is
  • why you believe it breaches these guidelines
  • any relevant evidence or context
  • your contact details if you would like a response

Music Kite may not be able to respond to every report individually, but reports help keep the platform safer and more accurate.

18. Consequences of breaching these guidelines

If these guidelines are breached, Music Kite may:

  • remove content
  • edit or restrict content
  • unpublish a profile
  • unpublish an event
  • disable a Live Hub
  • restrict messaging or inquiries
  • remove links
  • request verification
  • issue a warning
  • suspend access
  • delete an account
  • refuse future access
  • take other action needed to protect Music Kite or users

The action taken will depend on the situation, severity, risk and context.

19. Changes to these guidelines

Music Kite may update these Community Guidelines as the platform develops.

If changes are significant, Music Kite may notify users by email, in-app notice or another appropriate method.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when these guidelines were last changed.
